Lāth has been working in and with museums for almost 30 years, starting as a part-time exhibit preparator while at university. He has built a reputation for leading unconventional museums. Recently he led the creative revival of The Tech Museum of Innovation in Silicon Valley, was the founding director of Paul Allen’s museum of usable vintage computers in Seattle, and is now leading the new Museum of the Future in Dubai.
He is known for building highly diverse teams and championing inclusive practices. Despite not pursuing any advanced degrees himself, he has taught at the masters level in two museum studies programs and is currently writing a book on inclusive museum design.
